7 Weeks and First Signs of Spring

This morning I saw the first signs of spring in our yard. One little yellow crocus had popped through the cold dirt. I was so excited to see this. I love spring and have been longing for the sunny days to come.
According to the online calculations I have reached 7 weeks of pregnancy. Woohoo - half way through the first tri-mester. By now our little potty seed is actually the size of a blueberry. I'll have to find a different fruit to snack on in the morning.

I took this picture last year, the morning after I had a Chinese New Year Book Club Meeting at my house.  I currently use it as my wallpaper on my laptop. Traveling to and from Syracuse got me thinking about the Chinese Year our baby would be born into.

I did a little online searching and found that 2008 is the year of the Rat - well that didn't sound too good.

The info I found said that those born in the year of the rat tend to be leaders, pioneers, and conquerors. They are charming, passionate, charismatic, practical, and hard working.  Now that was better news - sounds like a person that both my husband and I would really love to know.

Breakfast

I went down to the little coffee place in my building this morning to get a bagel for breakfast. The women behind the counter asked me if I wanted "Onion or Poppy Seed". This was not a hard decision to make - of course I wanted Onion! No way could I imagine chomping down on all those little poppy seeds.

We Voted!

By "we" I mean the poppy seed and I went and voted this morning. My husband went a little later. I won't get all political today but I did think it was important to get out there and cast my vote. The future of this world is slightly more important to me since I'm bringing a new life into it.

The size of a Poppy Seed

I thought and thought about a good Blog name and all I could think about was what I read last night: "Right now your baby is an embryo the size of a poppy seed". So, there you have it.

Our Family Tree is Growing

We found out this Saturday that we are pregnant. We were suprised and shocked, yes we do know how babies are made, we just didnt expect this to happen the first month. Along with our family and friends we are thrilled and so excited to welcome a baby into our family.
