naps in the big bed

Little miss Emmeline loves to nap in our bed. I love seeing her tiny little body in our big bed - it's so endearing.

everything went really great with her vaccinations. she ended up having a low grade fever during the day but i kept up with the tylenol, she went to bed at 10:30 and woke up at 5:30 all smiles with no trace of a fever at all. i was so relieved and happy that all went well.
Emmeline is really starting to smile a lot now and even coo's for us a ton. She is all excited to see me when she wakes up in the morning, and i swear that is the best feeling in the world.

Here is our little peanut sound asleep in her car seat as I type this. We just got back from the doctor's and all and all it wasn't too bad. The good news is she's now 11.2 pounds and 23 inches long. Which puts her in the 60% for weight and 75% for height. We're so proud our girl for all her growing! She did get her month 2 vaccinations and screamed so loud (for those of you who haven't heard her cry yet - she has quite a loud yell - it's actually alarming when he lets loose). Emme hardly ever cries so when she does it's so sad and well, her the tears welled up today and her little face was as red as possible. It broke my heart. But - about 2 minutes later we were in the car, she had her favorite paci and she fell sound asleep.
I'll be watching her temp closely today and keeping up with the infant tylenol.

We gave Emmeline a bath tonight to prepare for her two month doctors appointment tomorrow. I'm so excited to see how much she's grown in the past month. But I am so nervous for all her vaccinations. I'm actually a basket case about it all. I'll try to post when we get back to let you know how it all went. Wish us luck.

Santa

I took Emmeline to see Santa today. She slept through the whole thing but I figured this would be the only year she wouldn't cry in total fear of the fat bearded man. I have to give kids some credit - he was a little creepy.

while she naps

this picture's a little bit blurry but you get the idea.

Emma recently commented that the first month of having a newborn is such a time warp. Emma - you couldn't be more right! I seriously can't even tell you what I did the whole first month except nurse her and sleep. Now that she occosionally sleeps for 5 hours at night my days are completely different. I actually have energy to do things like check my email or make dinner. I think I napped when she napped almost every time during the first month and now...I can get things done when she naps. Woohoo. I still think I spend about 6 hours of each day just staring at her in awe.

Right side, left side

Emmeline loves to turn her head to the right- as shown in the picture above. So, we're working on having her sleep with her head turned to the left for a few nights. I was expecting her to fight it - but she slept for 5 hours straight. It was awesome. We also need to start doing tummy time with her. We'll see how that goes.

6 weeks

We had our 1 month check up - and Emmeline is now 6 weeks old. She weighed in at 9 lbs, 3oz. and was 21.3 inches long. She was in the 50th percentile for both weight and height. We are so proud of our little peanut for catching up so quickly.
She really is such a sweet baby and hardly ever cries. We feel so lucky to have this little angel in our lives.

I am going to try very hard to get back into blogging on a regular basis. I'm sorry I've been so out of it.

2 Weeks!

Today, our little Miss Emmeline is 2 weeks old. She's starting to pudge up in the cheeks and is a little more alert each day. Although she still sleeps most of the day away. We're so in love with her and her funny little ways. I really need to get some pictures of her when her eyes are open. She makes some crazy faces.

6 oz's !!!!

Here is a picture I took the day after Emmeline was born. She was 7.5 oz. The last time we went to the doctor she was 6.8 and today she was 6.14!!! We are so proud of little girl. She gained 6 ounces since Friday - we are thrilled! All the nursing, pumping, and supplementing has paid off. Plus - my milk supply is slowly increasing and we havent needed to use formula since Saturday. We can supplement with my breast milk only! We're super excited and hope it keeps increasing each day.
Ing and Stace - thanks for all the advice, I have been eating like a mad person and drinking water every second. I think it's paying off.

Busy days

I haven't been posting since we have been way too busy with nursing and pumping every 2 hours. Unfortunately I'm not producing enough milk and Emmeline just hasn't been getting enough to eat. She just hasn't been gaining weight like we would like.  I've desperately been trying to avoid giving her formula but it looks like we may have to supplement just a little until my super duper milk supply gets established. And after spending  hours with a lactation consultant it looks like nursing and then pumping every 2 hours is the way to do that. I don't mind the lack of sleep or the constant washing of pump parts the worst part is waking this sweet little girl from her deep sleep. It breaks my heart to get her undressed and change her diaper just to get her to wake up. But I'll do whatever it takes to put some weight on her.

Our sweet little Emmeline was born on Wednesday, October 1st. She was 7.5 pounds and 19.5 inches. We are so blessed to have her in our lives and love her more than we ever imagined.

I'll get the whole birth story posted soon. Life here is busy but more wonderful than ever.

Last night as a family of 2

Tonight is our last night as a family of 2. Tomorrow morning we'll head to the hospital and eventually we come home a family of 3. Wow - we're a little scared, definitely in awe, and anxious to meet the baby we already love so much. Wish us the best of luck - and please keep us in your prayers. Stacey will keep everyone updated and I'll be sure to post as soon as I can.  I'm packing my camera and my laptop and bringing them with me.

Busy Birthday Weekend

                                                    HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY HONEY!!!!
This past weekend we celebrated my husband's 30th birthday a couple times. We met up with some of his golf friends and their wives at Top Golf  - which was so much fun. Thanks everyone for coming.
On Sunday Stacey and Grey came over for some football, stuffed meatballs, and cake. It was great to celebrate his actual bday. He was actually the last of the 4 of us to turn 30 - welcome to the club honey.

Pregnancy Fog

This whole past week I have been in a serious pregnancy fog. I haven’t really been myself at all. I’m been lagging on just about everything – I need to get up a post about my husbands birthday, pictures of baby Connelly and so much more. I promise to blog tomorrow after my doctor’s appointment. I’ve also been so lazy about cleaning the house, grocery shopping, and cooking. Please tell me this pregnancy fog is normal!

Prego Pics by Katie

My cousin Katie is an amazing photographer. We spent Sunday hanging around her house and getting nearly 60 prego pictures. Here are just a couple of my favorites. I think we’ll probably get the one of Craig and I framed and put it up in the baby’s room. Wait, is that cheesy?

Lazy Sunday

We spent the day being lazy at my cousin Katie's house. Craig and Brent went to a bar to watch the NY game that wasn't televised while Katie and I hung around and then had a little photo shoot.  She is an amazing photographer  and took a ton of prego pictures of me. I'll post some tomorrow. This weekend went way too fast.

36 weeks plus baby news

Tomorrow starts my 36th week. I can't believe how fast it's gone.
HA! My stomach looks enormous in this picture!

BABY NEWS: The baby is still breached so we have decided let the doctor try and turn the baby in my 38th week. If she is successful then she’ll induce me that same day and we’ll have the baby vaginally. If she can't get the baby to move then she’ll take me in for a c-section that same day and we’ll have the baby surgically. Either way, this baby will be born in just a couple weeks!!! We’re super excited and keeping our fingers crossed that she can manually move this stubborn baby into the right position.

Norris Wedding

Last weekend my beautiful sister in law got married to one of the sweetest, funniest guys I know! It was such a fun wedding with lots of dancing ( I think I made it through about 4-5 songs before I was all tuckered out). They are so in love – it was an honor to be part of their wedding.
Now that they hitched and enjoying sunny Barbados we are in full baby preparation mode. Getting the car seats checked out, getting the house ready, and all those cute baby clothes washed up and ready to go.

Back from Erie

After spending the last 11 days in good old Erie we are back home. We had an amazing time meeting up with good friends, spending time with family, and going to two weddings. I tried uploading pictures while I was there - but blogspot just doesnt like my satellite wireless too much. Plus, I was very much unlike myself and took very little pictures. I'll get some more up this week.

Happy Birthday Stacey!!!

Today is Stacey's 30th birthday! We’ve been through some crazy times together: high school (scary enough on it’s own), Philly (where I think we started a witches coven one drunk late night, dated 40 year olds, and partied every night), and DC (bought our first homes, and partied a lot until we both got pregnant).
We’ve celebrated every birthday together for the past 4 years and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!

Thanks for being such an amazing friend and for giving me some of the best memories of my life!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!

How cute is he??? I was visiting Stacey last night and just couldnt help but take more pictures of this little guy.

Craig and I love this picture. We think he looks like he's pondering his next pose.

33 Weeks

Craig snapped this photo while I was peaking on our neighbors, haha. Well, I’m 33 weeks now and feeling really great. That stubborn baby Brugger is currently breached so we’re hoping it moves soon. It seems like this baby’s favorite hobby is to stretch out and push its little head as far up by my right ribs as it can get. Sometimes it’s such a big bump on my belly that we can basically cup the head in our hand. It’s amazing and scary all at the same time.

Nursery Art

Craig spent most of Sunday putting together the art for the nursery. I have had the prints for some time and just recently picked out frames and matting with my mom. Craig did a great job putting them all together and even though the nursery isn't ready - I can't wait to get these up! The pictures didnt come out so great due to glare from the glass - but you get the idea, right?

We baby-sat Lucy last night and she was super sweet - she kept us on our toes thats for sure. She's always in action; it was hard to get a picture of her that wasn't blurry. Stacey, Grey and Oliver stopped over with pizza and salad - thanks guys!

Isn't he just so handsome!!!
I'm curious now to see what I'm having. Either way - they are going to be best friends - or maybe even get married. hahaha

It's a boy!!!

At 1:01 am this morning Stacey gave birth to a beautiful little boy. I'll let her reveal the name (it's so cute, I just love the name) He was 7 lbs 1 oz, and 20 inches long and seriously one of the cutest little babies ever!!! Pictures are soon to follow.

3rd update on baby P

So, it's now 6:10 and Dr. Mazal just came in. Stacey is right around 9 cent. dilated so the dr. will come back in a couple hours and by then stacey should be ready to push for sure. I'll update again when baby P is born.

2nd baby P update

Stacey is doing great! She got an epidural around 12:30 and feels really good. She is about 5-6 cent. dilated and is expecting to start pushing around 7:00 pm tonight. I'll keep you all updated.

Baby P Update

Stacey's water broke this morning around 5:30am. I am now at the hospital with her and she's doing great. They are going to be giving her pitocin to speed things up and hopefully by 7:00 tonight that sweet little baby will be here. We are so excited to meet this baby. I'll keep you all updated throughout the day.

Banana Bread

I decided to make my mom's banana bread this morning. I had ripe banana's and some time on my hands so why not, right? Well - I consider myself an ok cook but I have never been a successful baker.
In the end the outside edges seemed to get kind of dark but overall it tasted pretty good. Not nearly as good as my mom - but not bad at all.
I ended up eating half a loaf with three cups of decaf tea for breakfast. I probably shouldn't have made it at all.
