everything went really great with her vaccinations. she ended up having a low grade fever during the day but i kept up with the tylenol, she went to bed at 10:30 and woke up at 5:30 all smiles with no trace of a fever at all. i was so relieved and happy that all went well.
Emmeline is really starting to smile a lot now and even coo's for us a ton. She is all excited to see me when she wakes up in the morning, and i swear that is the best feeling in the world.

Here is our little peanut sound asleep in her car seat as I type this. We just got back from the doctor's and all and all it wasn't too bad. The good news is she's now 11.2 pounds and 23 inches long. Which puts her in the 60% for weight and 75% for height. We're so proud our girl for all her growing! She did get her month 2 vaccinations and screamed so loud (for those of you who haven't heard her cry yet - she has quite a loud yell - it's actually alarming when he lets loose). Emme hardly ever cries so when she does it's so sad and well, her the tears welled up today and her little face was as red as possible. It broke my heart. But - about 2 minutes later we were in the car, she had her favorite paci and she fell sound asleep.
I'll be watching her temp closely today and keeping up with the infant tylenol.

We gave Emmeline a bath tonight to prepare for her two month doctors appointment tomorrow. I'm so excited to see how much she's grown in the past month. But I am so nervous for all her vaccinations. I'm actually a basket case about it all. I'll try to post when we get back to let you know how it all went. Wish us luck.

Santa

I took Emmeline to see Santa today. She slept through the whole thing but I figured this would be the only year she wouldn't cry in total fear of the fat bearded man. I have to give kids some credit - he was a little creepy.

while she naps

this picture's a little bit blurry but you get the idea.

Emma recently commented that the first month of having a newborn is such a time warp. Emma - you couldn't be more right! I seriously can't even tell you what I did the whole first month except nurse her and sleep. Now that she occosionally sleeps for 5 hours at night my days are completely different. I actually have energy to do things like check my email or make dinner. I think I napped when she napped almost every time during the first month and now...I can get things done when she naps. Woohoo. I still think I spend about 6 hours of each day just staring at her in awe.

Right side, left side

Emmeline loves to turn her head to the right- as shown in the picture above. So, we're working on having her sleep with her head turned to the left for a few nights. I was expecting her to fight it - but she slept for 5 hours straight. It was awesome. We also need to start doing tummy time with her. We'll see how that goes.

6 weeks

We had our 1 month check up - and Emmeline is now 6 weeks old. She weighed in at 9 lbs, 3oz. and was 21.3 inches long. She was in the 50th percentile for both weight and height. We are so proud of our little peanut for catching up so quickly.
She really is such a sweet baby and hardly ever cries. We feel so lucky to have this little angel in our lives.

I am going to try very hard to get back into blogging on a regular basis. I'm sorry I've been so out of it.
